It doesn't get my vote. The Internet's tedious
enough as it is.

I found RCA's thread. One guy thinks that I 'must
be posting there [Sludge forums, based on my infre-
quent visitor's observations of the MS]' but I
don't think honestly think I have for about two
years, three years? ... Way too many graphics for my
then dail-up account.

I thought it was fairly obvious that Sludge may
possibly incorporate some sort of subscription
service - more people wanting pro-broadband
content (video, live streaming) will see to that.

You think that the popular aspect of the net will last through the rapidly eveolving technology? Or, like me, do you think that the escalating cost/complexity of hardware/software will drive out tye non-techno savvy? remember, it wasn't that long ago that you could find lots of net services for free, ones that you now have to pay extra for.

Media technology is predicated on one sole
philosophy: convergence. If 'Net companies believe
they're beginning to blind the layman, they'll
(make their own jobs easier) and simplify things
software, GUIs) for him, and then charge him extra
for the privilege.

I think the majority of medium - heavy 'Net
user are able to adapt in parallel with
the evolution on 'Net technology, the ones
that can't are probably the sames one who've
been having difficulty writing an email for
about six years. But then again, why type?
Why not make everything voice-activated? The
technology's been around for more than a decade.

Most far-east countries still espouse that
'technology for all' philosophy, and goes out of
its way to always remain inclusive; the west,
is a joke, and broadband is criminally overpriced.
But it won't last.

I can't barely work my way around most cable TV
remote controls, but this isn't my fault, this
is simply bad product design and/or an ignorance
